10 Things I Would Tell to my Younger Self

I have had this blog post on my mind for such a long time. So here it is. 10 things I would tell to my younger self. This are some tips, that I would like to know already in high school. By knowing them I would progress more quickly through life.

  1. BE MORE FLEXIBLE

The first thing I would tell to my younger self. Life is full of different situations, life brings you everything, joy, sadness, fulfillment, disappointment, happiness, hard work, lazy saturdays and much much more. So, in my opinion is really good to not stay stiff in your everyday decisions. Be flexible on your duties, if it rains today…study today..and if sun shines tomorrow, go hiking the next day. But you can not confuse flexibility with discipline.

  1. DON’T BE STRICT ON YOUR FUTURE, BUT KEEP WRITING YOUR 5′ YEAR GOALS

Write some goals for the future and daily to-do lists. Be disciplined. Set a date for your goals.Try everything to make it happen till the date. But if you fail, don’t be harsh on yourself. Analyze what went wrong and what still needs to be done. And then set another date. Have discipline to work on your goals every single day, even if it is just for five minutes.

  1. WORK ON YOUR CONFIDENCE, ON YOUR EMOTIONS, ON YOUR MINDSET

Work on yourself harder then on your job! Sometimes people work hard in their jobs and they wonder why they won’t get a bigger salary. It’s because you must raise your mentality in order to get bigger awarness and bigger salary. Work hard on your knowledge, on your skills, on your psychological awareness, on your emotions and on your mindset!

  1. WORK ON YOUR HEALTH

If you want success, you need to be as good as you can be. You must work on your mindset, your confidence and your health. To work on your dreams you will need a very strong mindset of positivity and confidence in yourself. And also a good physically condition to chase the deadlines. Work on your health, read healthy books, go running, go boxing, do yoga…no mather what, as long you do sweat and maintain your fitness levels.

  1. READ A LOT OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT BOOKS

Read as many books on personal development as you can find in your local library! The knowledge will widen your perspectives. It will give you the tips and confidence to start doing what you love. The books will teach you how to overcome fear and loss in your life. And that you are not alone and you can do this!

  1. GO STUDY ECONOMICS OR MANAGEMENT

One thing I would tell to my younger self is also that it would be better to go study economics or management. And it is because that, if you have a degree from economics you can work in any company. If you have a diploma in specific science, you can search jobs just in that industry and it is so much harder.

  1. DON’ T BE SUCH A MATERIALIST…FOCUS ON THE FEELINGS YOU HAVE NOT ON THINGS YOU OWN

Don’t buy new things constantly but focus on the feelings. When you will be older and you will be remembering your past life…it will be the feelings and not things that will be important part of your life. Your whole purpose for success must be about feelings. No thing, can make people happy, only the path they took to get the thing. If it is all given to you by your parents, you will never be happy, because you will not know and feel the excitement and fulfilment when you get thing that you have worked on for so long. You will never feel the gratitude that fills your heart with joy!

  1. READ BOOKS ABOUT MONEY MANAGEMENT AND  SAVE MONEY 

A thing that I would also tell to my younger self, is to start reading finance books very early in teenage years. Why?..Because it is a long process to absorb all the new information, it is a long process to change your spending money habits. There is a lot of tricks to involve into your daily habbits. A lot of skills that you must learn.

  1. LEARN TO ORGANIZE THINGS AND SCHEDULE YOUR DUTIES 

The most important thing when you grow up, is to learn how to schedule your chores, your classes, responsabilities or any other thing. Why is this so important? Because, how many things you can do in one day reflects your productivity. The success is measured also by daily productivity. Just for example: finish school at four in the afternoon, from four to six you must get home, eat and change your clothes, from six to eight you are studying, from eight to nine you get ready for the evening, and from nine to eleven you have time to do the things that you love to do. This is just the example, but you must be disciplined, only like this you will see changes in few months. 

  1. STRIVE FOR THE BEST, BUT DON’T BE HARSH TO YOURSELF WHEN YOU FAIL

Some things take time. The hardest things is to work on yourself. Always strive to the best you can possible be. Think and do things separately, I mean focus for just one day ahead, do everything that you finish every thing on your to-do list for that day. When you fail to do everything…and it will happen, because this is life, accept that fact and prepare for it. When you fail don’t let negative thoughts get to you. Focus, you have failed, what to do next..try the same things the next day. If this also doesn’t work, try to do it in a different way with different resources. Just do it!:)
