New Year’s Resolutions: Yes or No? – Bloganuary 2

In todays Bloganuary I want to talk about New Year’s resolutions. In the beginning of January people always made new resolutions for the next twelve months. But are these resolutions really worth of trying?

New Year’s Resolutions

What are actually New Year’s Resolutions? Are they words written on paper, are they goals for the next few months, are the thoughts running through our heads? For each of us the resolutions are something different. Someone can make resolution about fitness. Somebody else just about changing eating habits. Another one about finishing university. Also, why we use them only in January and how long they last?

Further more, why some resolutions don’t make it till the end of the year? Why we loose will to pursue our goals so easily? And lastly why are we doing resolutions on the first place?

Let me tell you my opinion and let me give you some small advices.

In my opinion, the resolutions are made because deep down we feel that something is missing to make us completely happy. So with the start of the new year we set some goals to pursue to complete our happiness. But as every year life comes in-between you and your goals. The year quickly runs to the end and there is no will left to pursue them. We can all relate to that.

How many things I have already set as a goal many years ago and I still didn’t achieve them. So, because of that I left my “New Year’s Resolutions” aside and start doing something else. Instead once a year of setting my goals. I am doing them four times a year. Every three to four months. Because I am expecting that life will bring me something unexpected. So until the year ends I have time to adapt to the changes. I always set a date and also one another date if I run out of time for the first time. Also, I set short-term goals and a long-term goals. And to complicate my life:) I set five goals in each category. Categories are: Health and  Fitness, Self-Awareness and Personal Growth, Finances and Career, Friendships and Relationships.

This helps me pursuing my long-term goals. Every year I feel I am closer to them. Every year it gets easier and easier. But at the same time every year I work very hard on myself in each category.

And that is what I wish to all of you. Embrace hard work on yourself and dream big about your future. It is never to late.

Thanks for reading:)

Please comment what are your thoughts on New Year’s Resolutions?
